When we first bought this house, the yard was neglected and overgrown. This pond was such an eyesore and for years we just put up with it because we only lived here part of the time. (We lived in Peru and Arizona as well.)
We rearranged the rocks, cleaned out the pond, weeded around it, added a fountain that is also a filter, and planted lots of pretty things, such as daylilies, oriental trees, flowering bushes, and grasses.
So, between the pond and firepit area in the backyard, the new pergola in the front yard, and our deck, we now have three outside spaces for sitting and enjoying a lovely summer’s day…
Or evening. Taking these pictures, any pictures really, has been therapeutic for me. I hope all of my readers are finding some peace and comfort this summer. Thank you so much for stopping by. 🙂
Camie!!! I just stumbled across your blog and saw that Marissa went on a mission to Cusco! I had no idea. I hope she is doing well and that all is well with your family. I also saw that you lived in Tucson in 2016. My husband was mission president in Mesa, AZ from 2016-2019. I wished I had known you were so close.

Hi Lori! It’s so lovely to hear from you! Marissa is doing well. She’s been continuing her BYU-I education at home since March. And, wow! What a small world! We enjoyed living in Tucson a lot more than we did Gilbert. I hope you and your family are well. 🙂
